Dehradun: BJP leader LK Advani's Jan Chetna Yatra is all set to enter Uttarakhand on Thursday as authorities beefed up security for his public meetings.

During his three-day programme in the poll-bound hill state, Advani will address four public meetings, including one at the Parade Ground here, they said.

A rousing welcome awaits him when he enters the state from Ponta Sahib area, the sources said adding senior state party leaders, including Chief Minister BC Khanduri, will welcome him.

Tight security arrangements have been made for the yatra.

BJP leaders say Advani has a special attachment for Uttarakhand as he was the chief architect of the creation of the hill state in 2000 when the NDA government was in power at the Centre.

"Advani has repeatedly said in his various speeches that he has special love for Uttarakhand," BJP spokesperson Satish Lakhera said.

Advani will not travel to remote and hilly areas of Uttarakhand which will go to polls early next year.
