Ahead of IMA`s parade, foreign national held

Dehra Dun: Ahead of the Passing Out Parade
of the Indian Military Academy here, police have arrested a
a foreign national living in nearby area without valid visa
and a passport.

During a verification drive before the parade to be
held on June 12, police got suspicious about the identity of
Indramohan living in Kehari village.

When questioned, he told his interrogators that he was a
Nigerian and was now living here after marrying a local girl,
police said.

He also said he had now acquired the Indian citizenship,
they said.

When police examined his papers, it was found he was not
an Indian and was living in the country without valid visa and
a passport for the last four years.

Later, he was arrested, police said adding today he was
produced before a court which sent him to 14-day judicial
custody.
