`Atal Foodgrain Scheme` for BPL launched in Uttarakhand

A new scheme for people living below poverty line was launched Saturday by the Uttarakhand government on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee`s birthday.

Dehradun: A new scheme for people living below poverty line was launched Saturday by the Uttarakhand government on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee`s birthday.
Launching the `Atal Foodgrain Scheme` Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said under the programme those belonging to the BPL category can avail wheat at Rs two per kg and rice at the rate of Rs three per kg.

"Ambitious `Atal Adarsh Gram Yogana` has already been implemented in selected 670 villages under which all basic facilities are being provided, and these villages are being developed as model villages," Pokhriyal added.
