Lucknow: Charging the ruling BSP in Uttar
Pradesh with lowering the morale of the bureaucracy by forcing
it to meet its unlawful demands, BJP on Wednesday stuck to its demand for a CBI probe into the "suicide" of the Principal Secretary
(Housing) Harminder Raj Singh last Sunday.
"Like its predecessor the Samajwadi Party, the present
Mayawati government has been pressurising the bureaucracy to
meet its unlawful demands, thereby lowering the morale of the
IAS officers", state BJP spokesman Hriday Narain Dixit told
newspersons here.
Alleging that political pressure had led to the suicide
of Singh, Dixit said a CBI probe into it was a must to find
out the truth.
The Uttar Pradesh police closed the case of the
mysterious death of the senior IAS officer yesterday terming
it as a "clear-cut" case of suicide.
