BJP to raise funds for disaster relief

BJP decided to appeal to industrialists, social organizations and state governments to raise funds for victims of natural disasters that killed nearly 200 people and rendered thousand others homeless in Uttarakhand last month.

Dehra Dun: BJP on Friday decided to appeal to
industrialists, social organizations and state governments to
raise funds for victims of natural disasters that killed
nearly 200 people and rendered thousand others homeless in
Uttarakhand last month.
At the end of a two-day meeting of senior party leaders
and members of the state cabinet, incharge of BJP affairs in
Uttarakhand and party General Secretary Thavar Chandra Gehlot
and Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank told reporters
that an action plan has been prepared to provide relief to the
affected people.
The party would appeal to industrialists, social
organizations and other state governments to raise funds for
Uttarakhand, they said.

BJP has also decided to set up relief committees at state
and district levels which would coordinate with the government
in providing relief to the people, they said.
