Dehra Dun: After remaining suspended for two
days due to landslides triggered by heavy rains, the `Chardham
Yatra` in the Garhwal Himalayas resumed today.
All the routes leading to the four shrines of Badrinath,
Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri were cleared from landslides
that struck at a number of places.
The routes have been reopened for vehicular traffic, the
Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre (DMMC) said.
The Chardham Yatra remained suspended for two days due to
landslides following heavy rains leaving hundreds of pilgrims
stranded at various places. However, the administration had
made adequate arrangements for them.
Meanwhile, most parts of the state had bright sunshine
today after moderate to rather heavy rains in the past several
days.
