Dehra Dun: In a suspected honour killing, a
man allegedly axed his daughter to death, fed up with the
taunts of his neighbour over her affair with a boy at Jaspur
area of Udhamsingh Nagar district of Uttarakhand.
Police today said that Puran Singh did not approve of his
daughter Swaran Kaur (16)'s affair and yesterday hit her
repeatedly with an axe, resulting in her instant death.
After the incident, Singh had managed to flee from the
scene. He was, however, arrested later.
Police claimed Puran Singh, during interrogation,
confessed to his crime and said he took the step as he was fed
up with the taunts of neighbours.
