Rohtak (Haryana): A 19-year-old engineering student, who went missing five days ago from here, was found dead on Monday under suspicious circumstances in Uttarakhand`s Haridwar district.
Abhijeet alias Saim Nandal`s body was found along the railway track close to the railway station in Haridwar, a police spokesman said here.
Kin of the youth are suspecting it to be a case of murder.
Abhijeet went missing from Rohtak on July 24. After that, a missing persons report was filed with the police, which was making efforts to trace him since then.
Abhijeet had sent a SMS on his grandfather Colonel (retd) Surender Singh Nandal`s mobile on July 25 and had told that he was in Haridwar.
However, when Nandal made a call on the mobile it was out of coverage area.
"Taking swift action on the complaint, we had sent picture and other information about Abhijeet to the Haridwar Police, which today informed us about the recovery of body of the youth from railway station," said the spokesman.
He said that motorcycle of Abhijeet was recovered by his kin at a bus stand in Panipat.
"Kin of the deceased are denying enmity with anyone but suspect his murder hence we are probing the case from various angles," he said, adding that cause of death would be ascertained after the post mortem examination.
