Holy man`s fast for CBI probe enters day three

Some youth Congress leaders from Uttarakhand along
with their supporters joined the fast at Matri Sadan Ashram
The youth activists would observe fast on relay basis
till the CBI probe was ordered, Youth Congress leader Ravish
Bhatija told reporters here.
Uttarakhand Congress head Yashpal Arya visited the
ashram yesterday and lent his party`s support to the demand.
A team of doctors is regularly examining the health of
Swami Poornanand whose condition is stated to be normal.

since Swami Nigamanand had died but the CBI inquiry was yet to

Swami Nigamanand, who also belonged to Matri Sadan
Ashram, died on June 13 in a hospital after remaining in coma
for more than a month.
He began his indefinite fast in February this year
demanding an end to quarrying in river Ganga.
Matri Sadan Ashram founder-head Swami Shivanand had
alleged Nigamanand was murdered as he was given "poison"
As the pressure mounted on the government, Chief
Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank recommended a CBI probe.
