Magisterial probe ordered into Pauri feast deaths

In the wake of death of 10 people after consuming wild boar meat, Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

Khanduri has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident
in Pauri district and announced Rs one lakh compensation to
the next of kin of the deceased.

Khanduri has asked the district magistrate to enquire
into the matter and provide medical care to 31 others taken
ill, an official release said here.

A medical team headed by Pauri Chief Medical Officer is
camping in Pabo area.

Villagers of the area feasted on a wild boar on
September 7 following which they developed high fever and
joint pain.
