Dehradun: The Akhil Bharatiya
Vidyarthi Parishad, a student body affiliated to the Sangh,
on Thursday termed Naxalism as a form of "terrorism".
Inaugurating a four-day meeting of its national
executive council (NEC) here, ABVP president Milind Marathe
said, "Naxalism, which has taken in its grip 203 districts
across 14 states of the country is not a social and economic
problem but it is another form of terrorism."
He alleged that Naxals were anti-national elements and
have displayed the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru on
their website as their hero and opposed the death sentence
awarded to him.
Marathe also raised the issue of Bangladeshi
infiltrators and alleged the Centre has failed to adopt a
sincere approach to the problem.
Earlier, the NEC meeting observed a two-minute silence
in memory of the slain 83 jawans of CRPF who were killed in a
Naxal attack in Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.
