`Sanyas` becoming craze among foreigners

Haridwar: After being influenced by Indian
culture, many foreigners have taken `sanyas` during the
ongoing Mahakumbh mela here.

Among them is Nikolai, a member of Russian President`s
media advisor committee, who took `sanyas` at Shantikunj with
a new name of Mahesh.

Similarly, Russian businessman Slava renamed herself as
Prakash and Russian sports teacher Elena as Jyoti. Omar, a US
citizen teaching in China, changed his name to Omkar.

The Mahkumbh mela began here on January 14.
