Snowfall in higher reaches of Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Heavy snowfall was received by the
higher reaches of Himalayas on Thursday, while the lower and plain
areas experienced light and moderate showers, bringing in a
chill across the state.

The areas which received heavy snowfall included
Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Auli, Nandadevi and
Munsyari.

Met office here has predicted heavy snowfall in the upper
areas situated at a height of 9000 feet and above during the
next 36 hours, while lower areas are expected to receive
moderate rainfall during the period.

Snowfall and rains has brought down the day`s
temperature, with Dehradun recording 16 degree Celsius, 2
notches below normal.
