Dehradun: IAS officer and former personal secretary to Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat, Mohammed Shahid, who was seen in a purported sting CD showing him negotiating a bribery deal, has been relieved by the Uttarakhand government and sent back to Centre, as per news reports on Tuesday.
Questions relating to his inter-cadre deputation to Uttarakhand were raised last month after a letter issued from the Centre curtailing the same with immediate effect was sent to the state government, the PTI had reported.
A letter from the Centre curtailing Shahid's inter-cadre deputation to Uttarakhand with immediate effect was received by the state government, the PTI had reported.
Shahid was asked to report to the place of his immediate previous posting prior to his inter-cadre deputation.
The sting operation surfaced on July 23 in which the Gujarat cadre IAS officer of 1998 batch was allegedly showing him negotiating a bribery deal with a middleman for liquor licences.
He was removed from his post last month after he requested the state's Chief Secretary to absolve him of the responsibilities pending an ongoing inquiry into the authenticity of the sting video.
