Dehra Dun: A dust storm and rains on Monday hit some parts of Uttarakhand but failed to provide much relief from the searing heat in the hill state.
A severe dust storm lashed the Dehra Dun this afternoon uprooting some trees and causing breakdown of electricity for more than three hours.
For a few minutes, lot of areas were enveloped in thick dust. The dust storm was followed by isolated rains.
Reports of rains have also come from other hilly areas like Uttarkashi and Chamoli.
However, there was no respite from the searing heat with the temperature continuing to hover around 40 degree C, met office said.
