Dehra Dun: A teenaged couple allegedly
committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train at
Jogiwala Badripur railway crossing here, police today said.
Vicky (17), a student of class XI, and Parul (16), a
student of class VIII, studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya of
Hathibadkala area, were having a relationship.
The school authorities were also aware of the affair
between Vicky and Parul and had called their parents yesterday
to share the information. When the two reached their homes,
they were scolded by their parents, who also asked them to
concentrate on their studies.
However, the boy and the girl later left their house
in the evening and jumped before the train and ended their
lives.
When the two did not return home late last evening, a
missing report was lodged by their parents.
The incident of their suicide came to light last night
when driver of Delhi-bound Mussoorie Express informed the
guard at the crossing that two persons had jumped before the
train.
Their family members later identified their bodies.
