Tripura`s Governor to donate salary to Uttarakhand victims

Tripura Governor Devanand Konwar will contribute his one month`s salary of Rs 1.10 lakh for the victims of the floods and landslides in Uttarakhand.

Agartala: Tripura Governor Devanand Konwar will contribute his one month`s salary of Rs 1.10 lakh for the victims of the floods and landslides in Uttarakhand, an official said here on Tuesday.

"The governor has asked his secretariat to donate his one month`s salary of Rs 1.10 lakh forthwith to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister`s Relief Fund," an official of Raj Bhavan told reporters.

The Governor has expressed his deep sorrow for the victims and affected people in the disaster.

Unprecedented heavy rain and landslides since June 15 ravaged the mountainous state of Uttarakhand, claiming hundreds of lives and affected thousands of people.
