Dehra Dun: Two more policemen have been
arrested in connection with the Ghaziabad youth`s alleged fake
encounter case in which 18 cops were charge-sheeted by the
CBI.

With the arrest of two constables yesterday, all the
accused in the encounter case of MBA graduate Ranbir Singh
have been taken into custody, sources said.

Constables Saurab Nautiyal and Vikas Balooni surrendered
before Special CBI Magistrate Anuradha Garg, who dismissed
their anticipatory bail applications and sent them in 14-day
judicial remand.

They were charge-sheeted by the investigating agency for
destroying evidences in the alleged fake encounter death of
Singh on July 3, 2009.

The 22-year-old from Ghaziabad was allegedly shot dead
from a close range during the visit of President Pratibha
Patil. Police had claimed that Singh was a criminal and was
shot dead in an encounter at Ladpur jungles here after he
snatched the service revolver of a police officer.

The post-mortem report, however, contradicted police claims
which revealed that Singh was shot dead from a close range and
was even tortured before death.

The incident had kicked up a controversy forcing the
government to transfer investigation to the CBI, which filed
charge sheets against 18 policemen.

All other accused are out on bail now.
