Dehra Dun: The Uttarakhand government has
delayed the formation of four new districts in the poll-bound
hill state and appointed a committee headed by chief secretary
to study the matter further.
"The report on the formation of four new districts would
be submitted to the government shortly," Chief Secretary
Subhash Kumar told reporters after a cabinet meeting presided
over by Chief Minister BC Khanduri here yesterday.
Former chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in his
Independence Day speech had announced the formation of four
new districts of Ranikhet, Didihaat, Kotdwar and Yamunotri.
