Uttarakhand Governor meets Home Minister

The death of Swami Nigamanand was also believed to have figured in the meeting between the Governor and the Home Minister.

New Delhi: Uttarakhand Governor Margaret
Alva on Thursday met Home Minister P Chidambaram and is understood
to have discussed developments related to yoga guru Ramdev`s
agitation and death of Swami Nigamanand after a four-month
fast.

Alva is said to have briefed Chidambaram about the
recent developments related to Ramdev`s fast, including steps
taken by the state government, sources said.

The death of Swami Nigamanand was also believed to have
figured in the meeting between the Governor and the Home
Minister.

The death of Nigamanand on June 13 has sparked intense
criticism of the BJP government with opposition Congress
demanding resignation of Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal
Nishank alleging that the seer died due to negligence of the
state government.
