Dehradun: Women in Uttarakhand who become mothers through surrogacy will also be entitled to maternity leave.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Harish Rawat yesterday, official sources said today.
Several other decisions were also taken at the meeting, the sources said.
It was decided that 15 per cent of the houses in apartments constructed by private builders will be reserved for people from economically weaker section, they said.
If any builder does not follow the order, he will have to submit 15 per cent of its project fund with the government.
To promote investment in the field of higher education in hilly areas, it has been decided to reduce the security money by 50 per cent, they said.
The amount of security has been reduced to Rs 5 crore from Rs 10 crore.
Similarly, the security money for establishing universities has been reduced to Rs 4 crore from Rs 7.5 crore.
The Cabinet has also decided to bring a Bill in the Assembly to provide 10 per cent horizontal reservation in state government jobs, the sources said.
