Youth arrested for attempting to rape minor

Dehradun: Police have arrested a youth in
Rishikesh near here for allegedly attempting to rape a minor.

The youth had allegedly attempted to rape a
four-year-old girl in Muni Ki Reti area in Rishikesh
yesterday, the police said today.

The youth tried to rape the girl when her mother had
gone to wash clothes at the river Ganga. However, hearing her
shrieks, her mother rushed home.

Later, she lodged a police report following which the
youth was arrested and sent to jail, police said.
