Balurghat (WB): Ten Bangladeshis were arrested from a bus near the international border at Kushmandi in South Dinjpur district, a senior police officer said on Sunday.

They were spotted sitting inside a Siliguri-Dalkhola bus during routine checking operation by police last evening when they were returning from construction work in Nepal, the official said.

They were headed towards Dalkhola check post for crossing over to the Bangladesh side.

The Bangladeshis, who hailed from Tangail and Bagura areas of the neighbouring country, had boarded a bus at Panitanki near Nepal border.

They had confessed having travelled to Nepal in a similar fashion after crossing over from Bangladesh some months back.
The sub-divisional court at Gangarampur in the district later remanded them to 14 days` judicial custody.
