15 babies die in Malda hospital

Malda: Fifteen babies, who were admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition, have died, officials said on Friday.

Hospital superintendent M Rashid said all the babies were referred to them in a very critical condition and were underweight besides suffering from breathing problems.

In the last 24 hours alone, seven babies have died, he said.
The cases were referred from various districts like Uttar Dinajpur, Murshidabad and neighbouring states like Bihar and Jharkhand.
