Jalpaiguri: Seventeen persons were
injured when a private vehicle overturned at a place between
Falakata and Alipurduar in Jalpaiguri district on friday, police
said.
The accident occured near Adai Mile when the SUV
travelling from Falakata to Alipurduar swerved to avoid a bike
coming from the opposite direction. The driver lost control of
the vehicle which overturned, police said.
Seventeen persons, including the driver and helper of
the vehicle and the bike rider, were injured, police said.
They were rushed to Alipurduar sub-divisional hospital
where the condition of five of the injured was stated to be
critical, according to the hospital Superintendent S S
Dasgupta.
