3 injured in Cong-TC clash, 11 arrested

Three persons were injured as UPA allies Trinamool Congress and Congress workers today fought a pitched battle over a local issue under Jorabagan police station area in North Kolkata.

Shamim said altercation between the two groups over the issue
turned violent with both sides using brickbats and empty
bottles in the clash.

As a result, three persons were injured and 11 were
arrested, Shamim said adding a seriously injured person was
admitted to a city hospital, while the other two were
discharged after first aid.

Rapid Action Force (RAF) had been deployed in the area
as the situation was tense.

Normalcy was restored after the police intervened and
took action against the clashing groups, he added.
