40 injured on way to CPI-M rally

Burdwan: About 40 CPI-M supporters were injured, one of them seriously, in a road mishap near Shaktigarh on way to the party`s Brigade rally in Kolkata on Sunday.



Of the 40 injured, 26 were rushed to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, where the condition of one of them was serious, police said.

The mishap when the mini truck in which they were travelling from Katwa in Burdwan district hit the divider of Durgapur Expressway near Shaktigarh while trying to overtake a
bus.

The mini truck overturned after hitting the divider injuring those in it, the police added.
