Kolkata: A total 68 companies of central
force will be sent to West Bengal for May 30 civic polls in
the Naxal-hit state, where security personnel have begun route
march in sensitive areas to build confidence among the people.
"The Centre had assured the state government that 71
companies of central force would be sent as against its demand
of 130 to 140 companies. But now we have come to know that the
state will get only 68 companies of central force," state DGP
Bhupinder Singh told reporters here.

companies and the rest will be sent to the districts," he
