Bankura CPI(M) office burnt down

The local CPM office at Kalisen area in Onda in Bankura district was razed to the ground, police said.

Bankura (WB): Close on the heels of the
ransacking of the CPI(M) zonal office in Ganguly Bagan in
Kolkata during yesterday`s CPI(M) sponsored bandh, the local
party office at Kalisen area in Onda in Bankura district was
razed to the ground early on Wednesday, police said.

Villagers told the police that armed men looted the
local CPI(M) party office, destroyed furniture and set it on
fire.
CPI(M) local committee secretary Pranab Mondal said that
around 15 to 16 Trinamul Congress supporters attacked the
party office.

He said the incident was a fall out of the 24-hour
state-wide bandh called by his party yesterday.
Local Trinamul Congress activists,however,denied any hand
in the incident and said it was an internal matter of the
CPI(M).

Police investigation is on.

Meanwhile, former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya
will hold a rally in Kolkata today to protest against
yesterday`s attack on the party office which falls within his
Jadavpur assembly constituency.
