Bengal Cong VP Ajoy Dey suspended for anti-party activity

WBPCC vice-president Ajoy Dey was on Sunday suspended for an indefinite period for making "objectionable" remarks against Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Kolkata: WBPCC vice-president Ajoy Dey was on Sunday suspended for an indefinite period for making "objectionable" remarks against Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Announcing this here, WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharya said that for the past few days, Dey had been making such remarks against Gandhi.

"This is a breach of party discipline and so we have decided to suspend him from the party for an indefinite period," he said.
Dey, who is also an MLA from Santipur in Nadia district, is likely to join the ruling Trinamool Congress, sources said.
Recently Dey`s close proximity with the TMC leadership also angered the Congress leadership, they added.
