Kolkata: As a flock of birds appeared on the runway of the Kolkata airport on Wednesday, four flights got delayed by a few minutes, officials said.
The pilot of an inbound plane noticed the birds before landing and alerted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) team. A van was rushed to the runway to scare away the birds, officials said.
As a result, four flights got delayed by few minutes.
Officials said the incident could be linked to clearing of nearby trees to make way for extension of the airport.
