Kolkata: Now that the NIA charge sheet has proved the existence of a terror network in West Bengal, the state government should apologise for opposing investigation into the Burdwan Blast, BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh today said.
"The NIA charge sheet has proved that a terror network was set up in Bengal to destablise the government of a neighbouring country. There are several questions that the TMC government now has to answer," Singh told a press conference here.
Singh also accused the Trinamool Congress government of trading national security for vote bank politics.
"Why did the SP of Burdwan destroy the IEDs that were recovered from the spot? Why did the TMC regime initially oppose the NIA probe into the Burdwan blast. What were they trying to hide? How come under the TMC regime for the last four years, TMC has established terror footprints throughout Bengal?" Singh wondered.
"TMC had played dirty politics in the investigation of Burdwan blast by NIA. We demand that TMC should apologise in public for opposing the NIA in Burdwan blast," Singh said.
Establishment of Sharia rule by overthrowing the democratically-elected government in Bangladesh was the motive of Burdwan module of banned terror outfit Jamiat-ul-Mujahdieen Bangladesh (JMB), NIA claimed yesterday.
