Kolkata: BJP on Saturday slammed the Trinamool
Congress-led West Bengal government for imposing "partial
censorship" in the state by way of selective subscription of
dailies in public libraries.
"From past experience, like the one during the Emergency,
we have seen that such a move proved counter-productive in the
long run bringing in the Janata Party Government," BJP
spokesperson Prakash Javdekar told a press conference here.
"It is an exclusively one`s own choice which newspaper
he or she will read or what TV channel he will watch. The
government has nothing to do with it," Javdekar said.
