Kolkata: Ahead of West Bengal Assembly
polls, BJP will organise a fortnight-long `Navjagaran Yatra`
in the state to project itself as an alternative to the ruling
Left Front and the Opposition Trinamool Congress-Congress
combine.

"The Navajagaran Rath will start from Cooch Behar on
January 30. It will be flagged off by (party leader) Rajnath
Singh. The yatra will end in Kolkata on February 15 with a
public rally, which will be addressed by L K Advani among
others," BJP central observer in charge of West Bengal
Chandan Mitra said at a press conference.

Pointing that BJP wanted to come out of the image of an
"also-ran" party in West Bengal, he said, "We want to tell
the people of the state that we are the only alternative to
the Left Front and the Trinamool Congress-Congress."

He said rallies would be held at various places on the
way of the rath to highlight issues of price rise and
corruption, religion-based reservation and the `politics of
dead bodies` in West Bengal.
