Kolkata: Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy today accused the West Bengal unit of BJP for trying to disturb peace in the state, specially in the Junglemahal area.

"Few days back the BJP took out an armed rally in Jungelmahal area. They are trying to disturb the peace in there. The people of Bengal will not tolerate this. We will take out a peace rally there in the next few days," said Roy.

Going by the recent trend of opposition leaders and party workers joining the ruling Trinamool Congress after party came to power in 2011, Bimal Singh, a RJD youth leader of Kolkata, today joined the TMC along with his supporters.

"Bimal Singh is joining the party today. His induction will strengthen the party in the Chowringhee area of Kolkata, which will go to polls on September 13," Roy added.
