Kolkata: The body of a 55-year-old CPI(M) activist, suspected to have been killed by Maoists, was found in West Midnapore district of West Bengal on Sunday.
"Ganesh (Aich) was missing since Saturday night. We believe he was killed by Maoists," West Midnapore superintendent of police Manoj Verma said. The body had bullet injuries.
"The body was found beside a road in Binpur," he said.
Maoist guerrillas are active in the three western districts of West Bengal - West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura.
