Kolkata: Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata
Banerjee today claimed that the breakdown of alliance with
Congress over seat-sharing would not affect the result of the
May 30 civic elections in West Bengal.
"The common people have already formed a grand
alliance. They want a change," Banerjee told reporters here.
Stating that the Muslim League and the NCP were
supporting her party in the elections, Banerjee said,
"Trinamool Congress has been fighting the CPI(M) all along. It
is the only party which can fight the CPI(M) in the state."
She said the list of those who would join her party
from the Congress and other parties would be given to the
Banerjee said a meeting of her party MPs, MLAs,
councillors and leaders would be held tomorrow to chalk-out
the party`s campaign strategy.
