Kolkata: Ridiculing the seat-sharing
talks between Congress and Trinamool Congress, West Bengal
Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday expressed
determination to defeat the alliance.
Replying to the debate on thanks-giving motion on the
Governor`s address to the budget session, Bhattacharjee told
the House that Left Front would not rest in peace till the
alliance was defeated at the hustings.
In a dig at the much-awaited Congress-Trinamool
Congress alliance for the coming Assembly polls that may boost
morale of the CPI(M)-led Left Front, Bhattacharjee asked the
Congress members if the alliance would come into being and
said should clinch the deal as early as possible.
"I feel the alliance will come into being. Clinch the
deal as early as possible. We won`t find peace till we inflict
defeat on the Congress pair (alliance). We will definitely
defeat the pair," Bhattacharjee said directing his sarcasm
towards the near-vacant opposition bench.
Only CLP leader Abu Hena, PCC chief Manas Bhuniya and
two other Congress members were present in the opposition
bench. Trinamool Congress members were absent from the House.
