New Delhi: CBI on Monday arrested managing director of a media company for his alleged involvement in Saradha scam.
CBI sources said Ramesh Gandhi, MD of Rainbow Production Ltd, Kolkata has been arrested today for his alleged involvement in the Saradha scam case.
They said he was allegedly associated with Saradha Group Chief Sudipta Sen.
Huge funds were allegedly transferred in his own and company account, they said.
Gandhi is alleged to be a close confidante of former Union Minister who is also an accused in the case.
However, Sen has reportedly claimed in his statement that the former Union Minister with the help of Gandhi and others allegedly blackmailed him and extorted Rs 29 crore from him which were invested to acquire a company, sources said.
Gandhi used to produce a popular news capsule 'Khas Khabor' in the 1990s.
He will be produced in court tomorrow, the CBI said.
