Lalgarh: Echoing Trinamool Congress, the Congress on Wednesday said that the Left Front government was using the joint security forces deployed in anti-Maoist operations in West Midnapore district in its own interest, but unlike its ally, did not demand their withdrawal.
"The central forces deployed in junglemahal are being
used by the CPI-M in its own interest," West Bengal Congress
president Manas Bhunia said at a public meeting here.
Bhunia, however, did not demand the withdrawal of the
joint forces and said that whether they would remain in the
area or not would be decided by the Centre and the West Bengal government.
The WBPCC chief said there could not be development and
restoration of democracy and peace in jungalmahal as long as
the "blood for blood" policy is continued.
