Centre asks WB govt to review security provided to Mamata

The Centre has instructed the West Bengal government to review afresh the Z-Plus security provided to Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Kolkata: The Centre has instructed the
West Bengal government to review afresh the Z-Plus security
provided to Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The West Bengal Home Department has recently received a
communique from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to review
Banerjee`s security and the concerned official in the state
have been asked to do so, Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh said
here today.

"We shall also talk to the RPF since they also look
after the security of the Railway Minister," Ghosh said.

The state government last reviewed the security of all
VVIPs in the state including Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress
chief, on October 12.

Director Security A K Maliwal had a meeting with MHA
officials in Delhi this week over the matter.
