CID recovers weapons used to kill Rajib

CID sleuths claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough in the sensational Rajib Das murder case with the recovery of the weapons used to kill him.

Barasat: CID sleuths on Wednesday claimed to
have achieved a major breakthrough in the sensational Rajib
Das murder case with the recovery of the weapons used to kill
the 16-year-old boy when he was trying to save his elder
sister from molesters here on February 15.

A plastic packet, containing a pipegun, a blood stained
knife and some cartridges, was recovered from a bush near
Barasat railway station after the three arrested accused led
the investigating team to the place, police said.

The three accused - Mithun Das (22), Monojit Biswas (21)
and Biswanath alias Babu Chatterjee (25) - had earlier been
identified as killers by Rajib`s sister Rinku Das at Test
Identification parade at Dum Dum Central Correctional Home on
March 2.

Rajib was killed while he was trying to save Rinku from
molestation by three drunken youths at about 11.30 PM at
Kachari Maidan in Barasat of North 24-Parganas district.
