Midnapore: A class X student was allegedly raped and killed by her cousin in West Midnapore district, police said on Thursday.
The body of the girl, who was missing since yesterday was found stuffed in a gunny bag in Dhangaslole village today, they said.
After the body was found, the girl's father lodged a complaint at Salboni police station alleging that his daughter was raped and killed by Bapaditya Mahato (32) who used to harass her.
Bapaditya, who is a cousin of the girl is absconding since yesterday, police said, adding a search operation has been launched to nab him.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem was conducted on the body after which it was handed over to the family.
