Kolkata: The CPI(M) on Thursday agreed that there were lacunae in the party and its frontal organisations on decision making and implementation of various policies during the Left rule.

The delegates to the ongoing 24th state conference of the party here discussed good policies such as land reforms, panchayat raj, agricultural development and maintenance of secular fabric of the state.

"But there has been lacunae in certain policy making and implementation of policies of the Left regime. There has been weakness within the party and its mass organisations in implementation of certain policies," a press statement said.

CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose reminded the conference that if there was sluggishness in the organisation, the party would not be able to reap benefit even if there was a change in the situation.

Opposition leader and CPI(M) politburo member Surya Kanta Mishra, however, said that the party had not only alternative policies when it was in power, it also created ones when in opposition.
