Kolkata: The Left Front on Monday nominated CPI(M) candidates for the byelections to two Assembly seats in West Bengal.
Samar Mukherjee would fight the elections from Daspur and Nilanjan Dasgupta would contest from Bankura, the Left Front announced.
The byelections were necessitated by the deaths of Trinamool Congress MLAs Ajit Bhuniya, who represented Daspur in West Midnapore district and Dr Kashinath Mishra, who represented Bankura segment in Bankura district.
