CPI-M WB committee discusses internal weaknesses

Political issues, organisational weaknesses and the need to strengthen links with the masses were some issues that came up for discussion at a CPI-M state committee meeting.

Kolkata: Political issues, organisational
weaknesses and the need to strengthen links with the masses
were some issues that came up for discussion at a CPI-M state
committee meeting held on Thursday in the backdrop of the Left
Front`s humiliating defeat in the last Assembly elections in
West Bengal.

The meeting discussed the ensuing party conferences at
local, zonal and district levels prior to the February 15-19
state conference. It would end with an open session at Brigade
Parade Ground on February 19.

Party sources said discussions were held in a self-
critical manner with suggestions to further strengthen mass
contact and build up a strong mass movement.

Veteran party leader Benoy Konar chaired the meeting.
