Dacoits loot 11 houses in West Bengal

Dacoits looted 11 houses at Bauri village in Nadia district in the wee hours of on Friday and allegedly raised Maoist slogans after committing the dacoity, police sources said.

Bauri village in Nadia district in the wee hours of on Friday and
allegedly raised Maoist slogans after committing the dacoity,
police sources said.

The dacoits first looted the house of Akhmat Sekh and took
away Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and some gold ornaments, sources
said.
They then looted a large number of neighbouring houses
for around 90 minutes, the sources said.

Babar Ali Mondal, a CPI(M) gram panchayat member alleged
that most of the houses looted were either of CPI(M)
supporters or workers and he suspect that Maoists were behind
the dacoity.
Julmat Sheikh, whose house was looted by the dacoits
alleged that they raised Maoist slogans after committing the
dacoity.

Police sources said they are investigating the matter.
