Kolkata: The demand for strengthening security around the camp office of National Investigation Agency (NIA) here probing the Burdwan blast was raised in West Bengal assembly on Tuesday.
Raising the issue during the mention hour, CPI(M) member Sahajahan Choudhury urged the state government to streamline security measures around the CRPF camp at Salt Lake area in the city which houses the camp office of the anti-terror probe agency, in the wake of a minor blast near it yesterday.
Demanding from the state government to bring the entire area under security net, Chowdhury said CCTVs should be installed for proper monitoring of the situation at the camp office round-the-clock.
The explosion last evening was minor but those involved in it should be arrested and punished since the place of its occurrence is very sensitive, he said.
The explosion was very serious as the three arrested suspect including Sajid, the mastermind of the Burdwan blast, are now under the custody of NIA and are being interrogated by the agency in the camp office, Chowdhury said.
