against the assault on one of their colleagues even as a
conciliatory attempt by authorities failed to end the impasse.
Unconfirmed reports said that two patients died after
being denied admission in the SSKM hospital.

The strike caused considerable inconvenience to the
patients as hundreds of them were returned. Those included
patients seeking admission in the emergency ward.
