Kolkata: In a huge embarrassment for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, two Trinamool Congress ministers were seen indulging in a ugly public spat during an event in Malda district.
The incident happened when Minister for Food Processing Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury came on a stage shared by MLA Sabitri Mitra, who was distributing land ownership papers to people and shouted shouting at his party colleague.
Chowdhury was angry as he was not kept in loop while 'pattas' were distributed in his area. The TMC leader was caught on camera shouting at officials and Mitra for not informing or inviting him for the event.
Mitra was seen shouting back at Chowdhury saying there is no need for any permission for such an event.
Interestingly, both the TMC MLAs were earlier associated with Congress. While Mitra joined Mamata's party in 2011, Chowdhury joined in 2012.
In the past, there have been instances, when the TMC chief had to pull these two ministers for public spats.
